Standalone logger or a wireless monitoring system: which do you need?
Most warehouse buyers are really choosing between two things. A standalone logger is a self-contained unit with its own battery and memory that you place on a rack, leave to record, then collect and download over USB. It is simple, needs no infrastructure, and is ideal where you need proof of conditions rather than a live feed. A wireless monitoring system puts fixed loggers around the warehouse that transmit continuously to a gateway and to server or cloud software, so you get live dashboards, automatic alarms by SMS or email, and audit records generated for you. It costs more and needs network setup, but for a regulated cold room or a pharmaceutical store it is usually what the standard expects.
The third case is the quick check. A handheld temperature and humidity meter is for spot audits, commissioning and troubleshooting a specific spot, not for the continuous record.

Fixed loggers transmit to a gateway and to RMS server or cloud software, and keep recording even if power or the network drops. Meeting Singapore compliance
Most Singapore warehouses do not buy a logger because they want data. They buy it because an auditor, a customer or a standard asks them to prove the goods were stored in-range. What “in-range” and “proof” mean depends on which regime you fall under.
Health and pharmaceutical products (HSA Good Distribution Practice)
Companies storing and distributing therapeutic products under HSA's GDP guidance are expected to keep storage areas within a defined temperature range, monitor them continuously with calibrated devices, alarm and investigate excursions, and carry out a temperature mapping study to prove the whole space stays in range, not just the spot where the sensor sits. Records must be retained and available for audit.
Medical devices (GDPMDS / SS 620)
Importers and wholesalers of medical devices in Singapore work to GDPMDS, which similarly expects controlled, monitored and recorded storage conditions where the product requires it.
Food (SFA)
Chilled and frozen food storage must hold safe temperatures and keep records that show it. Cold-room temperature records are a standard part of an SFA-licensed operation.
Food safety systems (HACCP)
Where temperature is a critical control point, HACCP requires it to be monitored, recorded and acted on when it goes out of limit. A logger with alarms and a clean export is what closes that loop.
Across all of these, three things decide whether a logger is fit for the job: how often it records (the logging interval, which every logger above lets you set), how long the record is kept and how securely (why FDA 21 CFR Part 11-compliant software matters for regulated sites), and whether the measurement is traceable (that the logger itself reads true). That last point is calibration.

What temperature and humidity range should a logger cover for a Singapore warehouse?
For a general ambient warehouse in Singapore, the logger needs to comfortably cover roughly 20 to 40°C and up to 90 to 100% RH, because indoor conditions track the local climate of about 25 to 31°C and 80 to 90% RH and spike higher near loading doors. For chilled or freezer storage, the logger must be rated down to your lowest set point. Check the operating range on the datasheet against your actual conditions before buying.
What is the difference between a data logger and a monitoring system?

Do I need calibrated loggers for an audit?
Yes, if the record is used as compliance evidence. An auditor wants to know the logger reads true, which means a calibration certificate traceable to national standards.
